November! (Again)
November 29th: Long Shadows (Glow-in-the-Dark Canvas) These are the pieces for the Art Installation I'm doing with a friend this weekend (Click HERE for details and directions if you're in the Berlin area). The only problem? These paintings were done with black, white, and Glow-in-the-Dark paint. They're meant to be seen in a fairly dark room with a bright but mobile (and sort of random) light source. The issue is that I don't own a camera that's sensitive enough to catch what these things look like with the lights out. There's all sorts of extra teeth and texture patterns that make them really unnerving. As in, I'm not allowed to put them on our wall. I'll be selling them after the show so if anyone's interested in scary canvas paintings that become infinitely scarier at night, drop me a line. Enjoy: (I'll post pictures of the "glowing versions" whenever I can get my hands on a decent camera.) November 28th: Orpheus in the Underworld
November 26th: Strange Fiction Monsters
November 24th: Xombie tribute
November 22nd: Dance, Fatty, dance. November 20th: I'll take you down there. Oh and I hope you guys dig opera. I'm working on "opera stuff" right now, so be prepared for a bit of "culture" over the next week or so.
November 17th: Jared is Sick (Forgotten Inks)
November 15th: Jared Plays with Photoshop
November 13th: #1 Super Guy
November 11th: Things that Will not or might still Be About 40 hours before the deadline, someone introduced me to a cool contest where you got to design a character for Nightmare Before Christmas. While there's no way my entry will go any place (realism + the fact that the official entry form is apparently harder to get than the holy grail), I still wanted to share my entry that I threw together just in time: The Angler.
In other news, I've sort of been inspired to start bringing some of my film school experiences to the site. Since I did sort of hyper-focus on experimental narratives, the idea of just posting my old storyboards for what I made or what I pitched as a senior thesis might not be a bad idea. Also, the HUGE lack of narrative material on Head Injury Theater is just sorta weird. I've got a bit of digging to do, but here's a shiny scan of the plot map of SquidWest. Enjoy it and save it on your computer. When I post SquidWest on the site, there will not be a map telling you kids where to find all the plot twists and alternate endings...and this is as good as it gets, frighteningly enough.
November 9th: It's my Birthday and I'll cry if I want to.
(By the way, Head Injury Theater is now officially updating with SOMETHING every other day. Woo Hoo! How's that for a present?) Edit: My birthday is awesome. Still no presents (Mr. Postman), but friends are awesome. Oh and did I mention that I have some crazy fans/friends out there in Internet Land?
Happy Birthday, indeed.
November 8th: Post-Halloween Depression (Technically still part of October)
